What is Poaching? Poaching is killing animals out of season, capturing endangered animals or it is when you kill more animals you should not be killing.

Why do people poach? People poach for items that are caught out of season or illegally that can be sold for a lot of money. The gall bladder on one bear can be sold for $18,000 dollars in Asia. Eggs from paddle fish are processed and sold as caviar.
Animals most poached Elephants and Rhinos and bears are the most poached animal. Commercial poachers also hunt zebra, cheetah, lion,tiger and leopard for their skins.
Weapons Poacher use lots of different weapons.In Africa they use wire snares.The snare is a length loop of wire bent to form a noose. They place the snares on wildlife trial. It gets caught on the animals lag, neck or trunk on elephants. Most Poachers use guns.
Poaching problems More than 16 tones of illegal ivory was found in customs operations around the world in 2002. It is estimated that 40,000 black bears are killed legally each year and just as many illegally. Animals around the world are killed each day for their body parts.
A story of poaching The story was write by David hands. He was video taping some elephants, with some men armed from social antipoaching unit.Everything was fine until one of the men shoot at the elephants.the elephants started to run towards them the men kept shooting.Some elephants where killed others were inured.lots of the men there were hurt.
Interesting facts The horns of rhinoceros could command up to $5,000 in the black market. Today, a bowl of bear paw soup can cost as much as $1,000. Five of the eight bear species in the world are endangered. the carcass of one elephant can bring in between $3,500 and $6,500 sold domestically.
