Ideas Lost and Budget Pinball weight lifting Wire trip releasing mechanism Money \$\$\$ Wood scrap \$10, BB’s \$10, hold on, \$20 - \$10 - \$10 = uhh ohh… So I went over, total cost around 25-30.

Design Process Lifting the Weight –Tension = Weight*sin(theta) –1kg*9.81m/s 2 = W sin(24) –W = 24.1188N –W = m * a –m = 2.45859kg –Theoretical mass required 2.45859kg –So our weight ends up being??? m = 3.8kg –Why so much? –…friction… and so the problems start.

Problems Dimensions –Measure twice cut once –We made sure to do this… but…  –The point of no return…  And the cut and ask questions later begins… Do all engineers use this much duct tape? –The final product Dimensions  Does is do what is suppose to… well…
