TigerStudy TigerStudy is a study portal for Sharing. Organizing. Visualizing. Share. {your thoughts, ideas, hints and answers} Organize. {study sessions, emergency reviews and more} Visualize. {the entire course in one click} An ORF 401 Project by: David Lackey, Akarshan Kumar, Armando Asuncion-Cruz, Dao Mi and Ziran Xiao URL: http://webscript.princeton.edu/~asuncion/ORF401/Project/index.php

Study Groups Provides a collaborative environment where users can form study groups and send messages back and forth o Message board is powered by AJAX to quickly allow the exchange of messages o Study sessions could be planned in these messages o Builds teamwork skills

Question and Answer Users are able to ask questions at the cost of one point Users can answer posed questions for the reward of one point By enforcing the cost and reward system, users cannot simply "short-cut" their way through academics o Users must help with other classmates' questions before they may gain help with their own questions o Everyone benefits from wide wealth of knowledge

Map The Course - a one-click view of the entire course In the blink of an eye, know what's important, and what's not; what you must study, and what can be left for last.

Four Dimensions 1. Text Size is proportional to importance 2. Background color is proportional to importance - Green indicates least important, red indicates most - Spectrum indicates intermediate importance 3. Relative position within own block indicates importance - Lightest/harmless topics float to the top - Heaviest/most dangerous topics sink to the bottom 4. Periodic sorting from least to most important - Every few seconds, the blocks are sorted - Least important at the top right, most important at the bottom left

WIIFY? It gets interesting... Think something unimportant is over-weighted? o Down-vote it!  Decreases the weight of that particular topic  Increases the weight of everything else! (Everything else receives the equivalent of 1/20th of an up-vote.) Think something important is under-weighted? o Up-vote it!  Increases the weight of that particular topic  Decreases the weight of everything else! (Everything else receives the equivalent of 1/20th of a down-vote.)

To test the implementation, please navigate to directory containing the java files using command line. To pull up the map of the course for COS 126, execute - java MapCourse < cos126.txt A window will pop up with the GUI How To Run The Program -
