Traffic control is not just for Fire Police any more. The safety of all responders at roadway incidents depends on responders knowing the proper methods to control traffic. Chief Allen Baldwin Incident Manager of the PA Turnpike is the instructor. This is a tested course and includes an outdoor session. A Flagger Certificate will be issued to all who successfully complete the course. Course is open to all members of the fire service, law enforcement, EMS, towing and recovery and DOT personnel. 9 PARADE RULES 130 th Convention Fireman’s Association of the State of Pennsylvania SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2009 King of Prussia, Pennsylvania Step off at 12 Noon 1. The parade will move promptly at 12 noon along the advertised parade route. 2. A representative from all marching groups, bands, fire departments, color guards, etc. will report to the registration area located at Valley Forge Road and Geerdees Blvd. to register for the parade between the hours of 7 AM and 11:30 AM 3. Companies will be directed to the line up area by a member of the parade committee after your apparatus is pre-judged. 4. All apparatus must be pre-judged prior to the parade and will be reviewed during the parade to qualify for awards. 5. Overall appearance of members marching, riding apparatus or pulling apparatus will be considered in judging. Street judging will occur in the area of the reviewing stand established by the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company along the line of march. 6. Use of seat belts is mandatory. 7.No sirens, bells, horns or excessive noise is permitted. 8.The person registering the apparatus is responsible for placing units in the proper category to be judged. 9.Any intoxicated person in the line of march or in possession of alcohol will disqualify the organization and they will be removed from the line of march. 9.Position in the line of march will be determined by entry date, and is at the discretion of the parade committee. 10. Pre-registration is requested. Registrations on the day of the parade will be placed at the rear of the last registered unit. 11.Parade will be held RAIN OR SHINE. 12.Failure to follow the rules will disqualify the entire company from any and all prizes and may result in removal from the parade, at the discretion of the parade chairman. 13.At the end of the parade, all participants will be directed to a neighboring fire station or may park in designated areas to view the remainder of the parade. 14.To receive a State Association sponsored award, the company/department must be a member in good standing of the Fireman’s Association of the State of Pennsylvania 14.The decision of the judges is final. JUDGING WILL BE CONDUCTED BY EASTERN PARADE JUDGING ASSOCIATION.

This will bring some 1,000 attendees to the conference and convention activities at the Crowne Plaza Hotel and some 20,000 visitors to the annual parade, to be held on Saturday September 26, 2009. As has been conducted in the past, we will be holding an exhibit area called “THE LEARNING CENTER”. The purpose of this event is to acquaint the thousands of attendees a the annual convention with the current information on both the companies providing products and services to them, as well as an opportunity to LEARN by seeing, touching, and asking questions about various products and services.
