LGB people have legal protection in the provision of goods and services, including NHS services. Transsexual men and women will have similar legal protection by the end of Addressing LGBT Health Inequalities

5 5 Ensure policies and procedures comply with the Law For example; employment policies and processes such as Recruitment and Selection. Complaints, Harassment or Anti-Bullying policies should clearly indicate what recourse people have if they do experience or witness discrimination. 6 6 Culture of respect Develop and uphold a culture of mutual respect among staff and users and contribute to a safe environment where equal treatment is given to all staff and users. Tackle harassment and bullying wherever and whenever it occurs. Assist staff in feeling confident to use procedures even if it means revealing their sexual orientation or transgender identity.
