3 Introduction of Coaches Brett Lehner – Varsity Head Coach

4 PROGRAM GOALS  Field a successful team at two levels: In the classroom – academics On the field  Provide each player with the opportunity to learn, develop, and improve baseball skills on a daily basis.  Provide each player with an atmosphere that encourages mental, social, and emotional maturity.

5 Player Expectations and Accountability  Strive for excellence in the classroom.  Understand and follow the Athletic Code of Conduct and all Team Rules at all school and team events.  Be on time and prepared for all practices and games.  Any player unable to attend a practice or game must directly notify his coach. Do not send a message with a friend.  Unexcused absences from a practice or a game will result in a loss of playing time and possible further discipline.

6 Academic Eligibility  Students are ineligible if:  They have 2 or more F’s  Their GPA is below a 2.0  If a player is ineligible, they can not play in games that week and will use practice time to work on academics  If a player misses three games due to ineligibility, he will be removed from the team

7 Travel Numbers & Expectations  Plane Trips (Sasebo and Iwakuni) ◦ Can only take 13 players ◦ Travelling players will be notified at practice on Tuesday  Bus Trips (All other locations) ◦ Can take 15 players ◦ Travelling Players will be notified at practice on Tuesday  Far East Tournament (Zama/Atsugi) ◦ Can only take 13 players ◦ Eligibility for Far East events is done one month prior to the event  Players will wear a shirt and tie on game days/travel days

8 Traveling Expenses $60 meals for Friday through Sunday morning Billeting expense ($35 - $50) ¥3000 snack/drinks during trip

9 Fundraisers  Fundraisers will be set up during the season to help with purchasing needed baseball equipment and to ease the cost of traveling.  Hit-A-Thon  Bake sale

10 Practice Schedule  Weekdays ◦ Indoor – varies according to pre-determined schedule  Currently: 1500 to 1800 at Weasels’ Den ◦ Outdoor

13 Player Paperwork  All paperwork must be complete in order for your son to practice, play in games, and travel with the team.  Also, if you did not fill out the Japanese form, please fill it in. The blanks correspond with the ones on the front of the page.
