People of the Amazon Rainforests in Brazil
What do they Eat? There are over 5,000 different edible plants and foods in the rainforest. We only consume about 200 different foods from the rainforest. The native people of the rainforest use ¾ of the 5,000 foods, which is 3,750 different foods they have to choose from on a daily basis.
Housing The Native people of the Rainforests live in houses made of logs, branches, grasses, bamboo, and many other materials which are found in the rainforest.
Natural Resources Since the people of the Rainforests have almost no contact with other people in Brazil, they must use natural resources for everything. Housing Clothing Cooking Catching food Hunting Can you think of anything else they use natural resources for?
Work Since money is not needed for living in the rainforest, the native tribes need to work for survival. –What do you suppose they have to do on a daily basis?
