O verbo To Be corresponde a dois verbos portugueses: SER She is beautiful. (Ela é bonita.) ESTAR She is at school. (Ela está na escola. )
Identificar I am Jack. Dizer a idade I am ten years old. Dizer a nacionalidade I am Portuguese. Dizer de onde se é I am from Portugal. Dizer a morada My address is 18, South Road. Dizer o número de telefone My phone number is 277451. Dizer a profissão I am a student. Dizer onde estás I am at home. Dizer como se está I am very well. Dizer como se é I am tall and slim. O verbo to be serve para:

Para formar a negativa basta juntar NOT, depois do verbo: I am not Rita. He is not Portuguese. They are not teachers. I’m not Rita. He isn’t Portuguese. They aren’t teachers. Também podes utilizar a forma contraída:
I´m not You aren’t He She It We You They isn´t aren´t I am not You are not He She It We You They is not are not
Agora, repara como se constrói a interrogativa: He is Is he? They are Are they? Como vês, basta trocar a ordem entre o pronome pessoal/sujeito e o verbo, mantendo o resto da frase na mesma posição.
