2 Knife Safety Always hold knife by the handle Never try to catch a falling knife. Move out of the way and let it drop to the floor.When carrying a knife, hold it straight down to your side with sharp edge facing behind you.Do not allow the blade of a knife to hang over the edge of a table or cutting board.Do not use a knife as a tool to open bottles, loosen drawers, and so on.
3 Knife Safety Cont.6. Always cut on a cutting board. Putting a damp towel underneath will help the board from sliding while you cut 7. Always cut away from your body 8. Never borrow a knife without asking permission, and always return promptly. 9. Always clean and sanitize knife after use. 10. Keep knives sharp. A dull knife is more dangerous than a sharp one!!!
