2 © Copyright year ABB - 2 - VR-3S PCD The following instructions are for the prompt removal of the PCD from the Low Voltage Cabinet. It is not necessary to return the entire cabinet to ABB Inc. to repair this unit. By following these instructions the time and money involved in the return can be greatly reduced.

3 © Copyright year ABB - 3 - VR-3S Removal of the PCD Unit Removal of the PCD unit requires the following tools: One small flathead screwdriver One small crescent wrench or box wrench (eleven-thirty seconds of an inch) Procedure Remove the screws from the Phenix connectors Remove the wires on the right hand side of the PCD Remove the ground wire Remove the four bolts holding the PCD on the door

4 © Copyright year ABB - 4 - VR-3S Removal of the PCD Unit Open the Low Voltage Cabinet Door Unscrew the thumb screws on the swing panel and open the door With the small screwdriver, loosen the screws holding the Phenix connectors to the back of the PCD unit NOTE: Do not remove the wiring from the Phenix connectors Phenix Connectors

5 © Copyright year ABB - 5 - VR-3S Removal of the PCD Unit Once the Phenix connectors have been removed from the back of the PCD then remove the line of wires from the PCD Label the wires individually so that rewiring can be done correctly Remove the wires from the PCD unit

6 © Copyright year ABB - 6 - VR-3S Removal of PCD Unit Remove the Ground wire (1) from the top left hand corner of the PCD unit using a box wrench Ground Wire

7 © Copyright year ABB - 7 - VR-3S Removal of the PCD Remove the four bolts holding the PCD on the swing panel using a box wrench. The bolts are welded on the door at each corner of the PCD. Bolts
