Individual releases will have EOL dates assigned later this year.

6 Platform Lifecyles  What drives the platform roadmap? Vendor Roadmaps –We will support a version of IDS on a specific platform until Vendor EOL or IDS EOL whichever comes first Industry Consolidation – OS’s are going away –Many vendors are/have moved to Windows or Linux Complexity Issue –Our strategy is to support at most 2 major releases of an OS –Important that you stay current

7 IDS 9.30 Platforms  AIX & bit  AIX bit  Compaq Tru bit  HPUX & 64 bit  Irix 6.5x 32 bit  Linux  Reliant Unix 5.4.x 32 & 64 bit  Solaris 6 32 bit, Solaris 7 64 bit  Windows NT, W2K Server Editions

8 Older Platforms  If you are on one of these platforms, need to look elsewhere going forward: Dynix PTX Reliant Unix Solaris Intel SCO OpenServer -> OpenUnix + LKP NCR MP-RAS DGUX

9 IDS 9  IDS 7.31 was the final feature release of IDS 7 line We continue to supply customers with regular fixpacks  What does IDS 9 have to offer the IDS 7 customer that does not want or need the Universal Server features?  Dynamic Logs  Dynamic Locks  Shared Statement Cache  Newest Platforms  Enterprise Replication Performance  …
