5 UVM-10M, UVM-6 systems are used for thermal vacuum degasification, azotizing, drying, heating and purification of transformer, cable, turbine and other oils for removal of gases, free and soluble water and particulate matter. The system is applied while installation, repair and operating of oil-filled high- voltage equipment up to 1150 kV (power transformers, high-voltage switches etc.) as well as turbines. The system can be exploited for heating of oil-filled units with hot oil and for vacuumizing of power transformers. The system consists of two isolated sections: the oil section and vacuum section interconnected with a vacuum conductor. Deep vacuum systems The oil section is intended for degasification and removal of mechanical impurities, azotizing, heating and pumping of oil. The oil section corresponds to a metallic, heat-insulated box wherein are located a vacuum column, oil heater-filter, receiver, oil inlet and output pumps, absorptiometer with a vacuum pump, fine filter and pre-filter, control cabinet, stop and control valves, oil pipelines and vacuum conductor. The absorptiometer allows to perform a rapid analysis of residual gas content in the oil. The section operational parameters are controlled by temperature regulators with a sensor, vacuum control device with lamps, pressure-and- vacuum gages. Electrical circuit provides for switching off the system in case of the oil flow’s absence, oil heater’s overheating (with providing of a sound signal), short circuit protection, improper phase interlacing prevention, phase breakage protection. Processed oil’s temperature is maintained automatically. The vacuum section is intended for exhaust of air, non-aggressive gases and vapor reviously cleaned of condensed moisture and particulates out of insulated vacuum units, particularly out of the vacuum column of the oil box. The vacuum section corresponds to a metallic box with a concreted bottom wherein are located vacuum units, an oil pump, axial blower, heating element, a tank with heaters, control cabinet, vacuum connector with a non-return valve, compensator, fly gate, vacuum meters. The vacuum section’s parameters are controlled by the vacuum meters, temperature regulators. The electric circuit is protected in the same manner as in the oil section. There is a possibility provided for the oil’s process along closed cycle. The three-stage filtration system enables to process a good amount of oil until scheduled removal of filter elements. The oil degasification is put into effect in the thermal vacuum manner along with spraying in the vacuum column. The oil is directed by the oil pump into the oil heater, after being heated and clarified from particulates the oil moves to the vacuum column wherein it is sprayed and trickles down along the inlet fittings. Tickling along the inlet fittings the oil forms a thin tape, owing to this, gases and moisture intensely vaporize. The vacuum in the column is maintained with vacuum pumps which provide removal of gases and moisture through the receiver. 7 Application The UVM-R-0.7 transformer oil regeneration system serves for regeneration of insulation oil to its virgin characteristics. The system also provides filtration, drying, discoloration and removal of particulate, sludge and other soluble oil decay products. Application of the system allows acid number of oil to be improved. It is used to regenerate insulating oils in transformers that are being installed or repaired. It is applicable for high-voltage power transformers, switches, i.e. high-voltage equipment. How it works The working principle of the system is as follows: there are two vessels, one is for oil and the other is for powder-like matter. As soon as oil and powder have been filled into the vessels, the oil treatment process takes place. This is one cycle of treatment. The vessel capacity for oil is 200 lt and for powder is 8 kg which makes up 4% out of amount of oil (200 lt). In other words average consumption of the powder is 4-6% out of amount of oil to be treated. If you use in process fuller’s earth you can regenerate this matter. Oil regeneration system The powder-like matter is not restorable. However application exactly of this powder makes improving of acid number of oil possible more than twenty times better unlike Fuller’s Earth. Nevertheless if you always use the Fuller’s Earth it can be applied on the system UVM-R-0.7 too. It will not violate technological cycle and you will be able to recover fuller’s earth the way it is recovered on other systems. Be advised that on using of Fuller’s Earth the post treatment parameters may differ from those claimed by us. After being treated with the powder, the oil goes to filters for further treatment namely to be cleared from mechanical solids. The settled powder is directed to the pressure filter for expressing the soaked oil out of it, it allows to avoid the unwanted oil loss. That’s why the use of pressure filter is necessary. After processing the powder is disposed. The pressure filter comes with cost of the system. UVM-R-0.7 UVM-R-0.7 with filter-press Description Regeneration of transformer oils is needed when the transformer oil has deteriorated to a level whereby regular oil purification (cleaning & filtration) is no longer adequate. The regeneration or reclamation process requires passing the deteriorated transformer oil through an adsorbent media such as specifically prepared sorbent powder or fuller’s earth. Sorbent powder’s consumption in UVM-R-0.7 is ranged between 4% and 6% of the weight of regenerated oil. One-pass clay load is 50 kg, which enables regeneration of 1 ton of oil. The UVM-R-0.7 system includes oil heater, coarse filter, fine filter, and oil pump are assembled together in a single unit (Fig.1). A press-filter, the separate unit (Fig. 2), holds sorbent powder for final processing of oil that has passed the main unit. page

9 Oil purification systems What it is for The systems are used for thermal vacuum dehydration and degasification of electrical insulating and lubricating oils in order to withdraw free and soluble water, gas as well as for removal of particulates. They are applied while installation, repair and operation of oil-filled high-voltage equipment. The vacuum vessel is a cylindrical chamber which is placed in a casing. There are also electrical heaters to heat oil under processing in the casing. The vessel is heat-insulated outside. In the upper part of the chamber there an oil sparger is set. The vacuum vessel is connected with atmosphere through the moisture separating filter and throttle. Rate of exhaustion in the chamber is regulated by the throttle. The gear type pumps are equipped with a bypass line which has taps and safety valves on it. The drive mechanism of each pump is an asynchronous three-phase motor with a squirrel cage rotor (2.2 KW and 1440 rpm). The vacuum pump is intended for exhaustion in the chamber. The vacuum pipeline is equipped with a siphon compensator, back-pressure valve, moisture Heater drive circuit is interlocked with pump drive circuit. In the control cabinet is located magnetic starter, heat regulator supporting set range temperature, indicator lamp. 10 Oil purification systems The filtration mode Through the input valve and mesh filter the deteriorated oil is sucked by the gear type pump and then through the primary cartridge filter and three-way valve goes to the processed oil vessel. Filtration, heating and thermal vacuum purification mode Through the input valve and mesh filter the deteriorated oil is sucked in by the gear type pump and through the primary filter goes to the casing of the vacuum vessel. There the oil is heated with the electric heaters up to 60°C and subsequently moves to the sparger of the vacuum vessel. Vacuum in the vessel is supported by the vacuum pump. Rate of exhaustion in the vessel is regulated with the throttle and controlled by the vacuumeter. Air gets to the vessel through the moisture separator. Gases and vapors are carried away off the oil surface with rising stream of air so that the oil becomes dried. Next humid air is taken out through the moisture separator to atmosphere with the vacuum pump. The gear type pump directs purified oil through the fine filter and back valve to the purified oil vessel. Degasification mode Being sucked by the gear type pump the deteriorated oil moves through the input valve, mesh filter and cartridge filter to the casing of the vacuum vessel to heated there and be directed to the sparger. As was mentioned above vacuum is supported by the vacuum pump. In the sparger there occurs separation of gases from the oil. The gases are taken out through the oil separator to atmosphere by the vacuum pump. Being directed by the gear type pump the degassed oil moves through the fine filter and back valve to the purified oil vessel. Design properties: Small-scale dimensions and weight of the system permit to use it as mobile one with the help of a cart and to treat the oil on-site. UVM-EP and UVM-EP models enjoy explosion proof design (the abbreviation EP stands for explosion proof). Such construction of the system permits to work in environments with possible risk of explosion. 13 Oil’s zeolite treatment systems UVM-Z series for oil treatment The system is used for treatment of electric insulating oils (viscosity is not to exceed 70cSt) by means of zeolite, silica gel and activated alumina (sorbent) in order to eliminate mechanical impurities, soluble and free water, to decrease acidity of oils. The zeolite agent is restored subsequently directly in the system. The system is applied while installation, repair and operation of oil-filled high-voltage equipment. Operational conditions - ambient temperature from +10°C to +35°C - atmospheric pressure from 84 to kPa - height above sea level up to 2000m - fire and explosion proof room Design and process description The system consists of two autonomous blocks: heating & filtration block and zeolite cartridge block interconnecting with flexible hoses. The heating & filtration block consists of oil heater, pump unit, cartridge pre- filter, cartridge fine filter, control cabinet and pipelines. The cartridge filter is composed of cylindrical vessel wherein filter element is located with a set of magnets. Cleaning of magnets occurs on changing filter element (cartridge). Pre-filter’s filtration fineness is 40 mcm, fine filter’s filtration fineness is 5 mcm. Note: filtration fineness can be changed by the manufacturer on customer’s demand. Zeolite cartridges can be acquired separately. It does not operate if there is no pump oil heater and pump drive available. The information above refers to UVM-Z-1.7, UVM-Z-3.5. 16 Heating and filtration systems The UVM , UVM systems are used for heating and filtration of insulating and lubricating oil in order to clarify from particulates, soot, free and soluble water, alkali, water- soluble acids. The viscosity of oil is not to exceed 70 cSt at temperature +50°C. How it works The pump drives oil in procession through the mesh filter, inlet valve into the heater. Afterwards warmed up to necessary temperature oil is directed to the pre filter. After preliminary filtration is over the oil goes to the filter. The purified oil through the connecting pipe pours off to the vessel (the vessel does not go with the complete set). Condensate extracted from the oil pours off through the valves. The UVM-F-0.5(micro) filtration system is a compact free standing off line oil cleaning and filtration system, capable of removing fine dirt particles and totally removing water. Filter cartridges are also available for use on water based fluids. To achieve optimum cleanliness, the contents of each tank should pass through the filter a minimum of 4-5 times. E.g. a 500 liter tank at 40°C will take approx. 4-5 hours to clean. 17 Heating stream systems The UVM–HS-18 and UVM-HS-70 systems is used for heating of transformer oil while topping-up, change or drying of transformers. The system is suitable for heating mineral, industrial, turbine and other oils as well as liquids not causing corrosion of materials the heater is made of. The system can be applied at the establishment engaged in repair and maintenance of transformer plants, at power stations. 18 Filling-up high-voltage bushing The plant is used for topping up high-voltage oil-filled hermetic bushings with degasified transformer oil while installation, repair and operation of power transformers, switches and other oil-filled high- voltage equipment. The device can be exploited outdoor at temperature from -25 to +40°C. As well the plant can be used for storage and transportation of the transformer oil. Design description UVM-HVF-4 consists of: - degasification unit 1 (insulated cylindrical vessel) - filling-up unit 2 (160 mm diameter piston pneumocylinder) - vacuum pump 3 (sliding vane rotary pump) - control cabinet The system has advantages as follows, it has lighter weight and can be set on the wheels enabling a better transportation.
