2 Shakespeare’s Life Shakespeare was born on April 26, 1564 in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire England. He died April 23, 1616 in Stratford-upon- Avon, Warwickshire England. He was married to Anne Hathaway. His children are Susanna Hall, Hamnet Shakespeare, and Judith Quiney. His parents were John Shakespeare and Mary Shakespeare.

3 The Globe Theatre Opened in 1599, The Globe Theatre was rebuilt in 1614 and closed in It was owned by actors who were shareholder lord chamberlain’s men. A reconstruction of the Globe named “Shakespeare’s Globe” opened in 1997 approximately 750 feet (230 m) from the site of the original theatre. In June 1613 the Globe Theatre went up in flame during a performance of Henry the Eighth. Two of the six Globe Shareholders are Richard Burloage and his brother Cuthbert.

4 The Elizabeth Era Was the epoch in English history of Queen Elizabeth’s first reign Depicted as the golden age. The symbol at Britannia was first used in 1572 and often thereafter. The Elizabeth Era saw the flowering of poetry. The Era is most famous for theatre.
