THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF NASAL SOUNDS BILABIAL SOUND: BILABIAL SOUND: Total closure is made by both lips. ALVEOLAR SOUND: ALVEOLAR SOUND: The tongue blade closes against the alveolar ridge, and the rims of the tongue against the side teeth. VELAR SOUND: VELAR SOUND: The back part of the tongue against the soft palate, the back part of the roof of the mouth.
