FOOD You must plan your food in your groups - share the load of food and stoves - learn to work together - consider the needs of everyone in the group Consider nutritional and energy requirements weight, bulk, taste
FOOD – DEHYDRATED Removing 98% of water - retains nutrition, reduces weight, increases shelf life Add water to reconstitute in about 20 minutes, then follow instructions No need to refigerate - will last well if sealed Check out nutritional value, weight and cost of various options at camping shops BUT consider: try out beforehand to make sure you like the flavour will you have enough water to rehydrate the food?
FOOD – MEAL PLANNING Consider energy requirements (how active will you be?) Weight? Cans – heavy, plus you need a can opener, and you will need to carry the empty cans afterwards Emergency backup supplies?
