Chrislam Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist?

Will You Join Us In Faith Shared? Faith Shared asks houses of worship across the country to organize events involving clergy reading from each other’s sacred texts. An example would be a Christian Minister, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam participating in a worship service or other event. Suggested readings will be provided from the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an, but communities are encouraged to choose readings that will resonate with their congregations. Involvement of members from the Muslim community is key. Faith Shared Uniting in Prayer and Understanding http://www.faithshared.org/

Koran (The Spider) 29: 46-47 – “Be courteous when you argue with the People of the Book, except with those among them who do evil. Say ‘We believe in that which was revealed to us and which was revealed to you. Our God and your God is one.” We believe in Jesus – mentioned dozens of times in the Koran – we even teach that he is the second greatest prophet

Jesus in the Koran Muhammad Born of a virginX Performed miraclesX Lived a perfect lifeX the Word of GodX the Spirit of GodX MessiahX Taken up in to heaven by GodX Returns in the last daysX

“We all pray to the same God.” Dr. Zhudi Jasser, President and Founder of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy “There is no god but Allah, and Mohammed is his messenger.” Muslim Shahada Allahu akbar! Allah is greatest “…reform is, I think, going to happen in Islam when we start to discard parts of the Hadith that are not legitimate, that have been fabricated – and this is where there’s some disagreement.” Zhudi Jasser – Glenn Beck Show – 2/17/11 “Allah” – just another word for God?

Koran (The Cow) 2: 106 Whatever a Verse (revelation) do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring a better one or similar to it. Know you not that Allâh is able to do all things? “Allah” – just another word for God? Psalm 18:30 the word of the Lord is flawless. Psalm 33:4 For the word of the Lord is right and true;

"The use of the word ‘Allah’ by other religions may arouse sensitivity and create confusion among Muslims," explained Abdullah Zin, the de-facto minister for Islamic affairs, to the local press last year. The Malaysian government had banned the use of the word Allah by non-Muslims but the judge ruled that the ban was unconstitutional. The ruling sparked considerable tension between the Muslim and Christian communities in Malaysia.

Malaysia’s high court has reportedly postponed a decision on whether the government of the predominantly Muslim country can bar Christian groups from referring to God as “Allah.” Malaysia is a predominantly Muslim country with 60.4 percent of its population being adherents of Islam. In general, the different faith groups have been able to live harmoniously so the recent sectarian incidents have come as a surprise to Malaysians. Buddhists make up 19.2 percent of the population and Christians are at 9.1 percent, according to the CIA World Factbook. www.christianpost.com 12/29/09 & 4/7/10

“Allah” – just another word for God? Deuteronomy 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Isaiah 45:5 I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God.

God of the Bible Eternal salvation by faith alone Genesis 15:6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness. Ephesians 2:8-10 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

allah of the Koran An uncertain salvation by works “faith and good works” – over 50 times Koran (Qaf) 50: 16-17 We have assigned to every one two scribes (guardian angels), the one seated on his right and the other on his left, not a single word does he utter but there is a vigilant guardian ready to note it down.

God of the Bible Matthew 25:44-46 "They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?' "He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.' "Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."

allah of the Koran Koran (Hud) 11: 105-107 Those who are damned shall be in the fire; in there, they will have only sighs and sobs. They will dwell therein as long as the heavens and the earth shall last, unless your Lord ordains otherwise; surely your Lord is the mighty doer of what He intends. As for those who are blessed, they shall be in paradise. They will dwell therein as long as the heavens and the earth shall last, unless your Lord ordain otherwise; an award which shall never be taken away

allah of the Koran Koran (The Believers) 23: 102-103 Then those whose balance (of good deeds) is heavy, they will attain salvation: But those whose balance is light, will be those who have lost their souls, in Hell will they abide. Koran (The Disaster) 101: 6-11 Then, he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) heavy, Will be in a life of good pleasure and satisfaction. But he whose balance (of good deeds) will be (found) light, Will have his home in a (bottomless) Pit. And what will explain to thee what this is? (It is) a Fire blazing fiercely!

God of the Bible Genesis 22:2 Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

allah of the Koran Koran (The Ranks) 37: 101-102 And We gave him the glad tidings of a very gentle son (Ishmael). And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion.' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast.'

[Tamimi] said descriptions of the Jewish Temples in the Hebrew Tanach, in the Talmud and in Byzantine and Roman writings from the Temple periods were forged, and that the Torah was falsified to claim Biblical patriarchs and matriarchs were Jewish when indeed they were prophets for Islam. "All this is not real. We don't believe in all your versions. Your Torah was falsified. The text as given to the Muslim prophet Moses never mentions Jerusalem. Maybe Jerusalem was mentioned in the rest of the Torah, which was falsified by the Jews." He said Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses and Jesus were "prophets for the Israelites sent by Allah as to usher in Islam." "Al Aqsa was built by the angels forty years after the building of Al-Haram in Mecca. This we have no doubt is true.“ Sheikh Taysir Tamimi, chief Palestinian Justice 3/15/07

Koran (The Spider) 29: 46-47 – “Be courteous when you argue with the People of the Book, except with those among them who do evil. Say ‘We believe in that which was revealed to us and which was revealed to you. Our God and your God is one.

"Al Aqsa was built by the angels forty years after the building of Al-Haram in Mecca. This we have no doubt is true.“ Sheikh Taysir Tamimi, chief Palestinian Justice 3/15/07 (The Cow) 2:127 “And when Abraham and Ishmael raised the foundations of the House (supplicating): 'O our Lord, accept this from us, You are the Hearer, the Knower.” Kaaba in Mecca After completion of the Dome of the Rock, construction began at the site of the original timber mosque built in the time of 'Umar. Originally commissioned by 'Abdul Malik ibn Marwan, it was apparently completed by his son Al-Walid in 705AD. http://www.noblesanctuary.com/AQSAMosque.html

Koran (The ‘Imrans) 3: 3-4 - “He has revealed to you the Book with the Truth, confirming the scriptures which preceded it; for He has already revealed the Torah and the Gospel for the guidance of mankind, and the distinction between right and wrong. Those that deny God’s revelations shall be sternly punished.”

TRAC5 A bold path to peace Spiritual common ground – Spiritual Camaraderie De-emphasize controversial aspects 1- Diplomatic 2- Political 3- Military 4- Economic 5- Spiritual Memo to 25,000 pastors about the good news toward Islam – urging them to rethink their strategy about Islam Mark Siljander – TRAC5

Matthew 16:15-16 "But what about you?" "Who do you say I am?" "But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

We believe in Jesus, too! John 19:18 “Here they crucified him, and with him two others — one on each side and Jesus in the middle.”

Koranic Teachings of Jesus Christ Not crucified – (Women) 4: 157-158 – “and for their saying, 'We killed the Messiah, Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger (and Prophet) of Allah.' They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but to them, he (the crucified) had been given the look (of Prophet Jesus). Those who differ concerning him (Prophet Jesus) are surely in doubt regarding him, they have no knowledge of him, except the following of supposition, and (it is) a certainty they did not kill him. Rather, Allah raised him up to Him. Allah is Almighty, the Wise.”

We believe in Jesus, too! Matthew 16: 16 – “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” “For God so loved the world John 3: 16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (Women) 4: 172 – “God is but one God. God forbid that he should have a son!” (Mary) 19: 88-89 – “Those who say: ‘The Lord of Mercy has begotten a son,’ preach a monstrous falsehood… That they should ascribe a son to the Merciful, when it does not become the Lord of Mercy to beget one!”

We believe in Jesus, too! Matthew 3:16-17 As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." Matthew 28:19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Koranic Teachings of Jesus Christ Not a member of the Trinity (Women) 4: 171 – “So believe in Allah and His Messengers and do not say: 'Trinity.' Refrain, it is better for you. Allah is only One God.” (The Table) 5: 73 – “Indeed those who say: 'Allah is the third of the Trinity’ became unbelievers. There is but One God. If they do not desist in what they say, a painful punishment will afflict those of them that disbelieve.” “God is not Jesus, and Jesus is not God. Even Jesus Himself rejected this.” Abdel-Azim, Amarillo

We believe in Jesus, the Messiah, too! Matthew 16: 16 “You are the Christ (Messiah), the Son of the living God.” Revelation 19:15-16 Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter." He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

We believe in Jesus, the Messiah, too! Koran (The ‘Imrans) 3: 45 – “When the angels said: 'O Mary, Allah gives you glad tidings of a Word (Be) from Him, whose name is Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary. He shall be honored in this world and in the Everlasting Life.”

Sunan Abu-Dawud (Hadith) Book 37, Number 4310: Narrated AbuHurayrah: The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus (peace_be_upon_him). He will descend (to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height, reddish hair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will die. The Muslims will pray over him.

1 John 4:1-3 Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? (The Cow) 2: 256 “There shall be no compulsion in religion.” (The Table) 5: 69 - “Believers, Jews, Christians - whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does what is right - shall have nothing to fear or to regret.” (The Table) 5: 82 – “You will find that the most people in enmity to the believers are the Jews and idolaters, and that the nearest in affection to the believers are those who say: 'We are Christians.' That is because amongst them there are priests and monks; and because they are not proud.”

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? (The Unbelievers) 109 Say: 'O unbelievers, I do not worship what you worship, nor do you worship what I worship. Nor am I worshiping what you have worshipped, neither will you worship what I worship. To you your religion, and to me my Religion.' Muhammad’s Farewell Address “Fight all men until they say, ‘There is no god but allah.” Sahih Muslim Book 001, Number 0033

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? Sahih Bukhari (Hadith) Volume 4, Book 55, Number 658: Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Apostle said "How will you be when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you and he will judge people by the Law of the Quran and not by the law of Gospel?

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? (The ‘Imrans) 3: 19 – “The only true faith in God’s sight is Islam.” (The ‘Imrans) 3: 85 – “He that chooses a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him and in the world to come he will surely be among the losers.” (Repentance) 9: 34 - “It is He who sent forth His apostle with guidance and the true faith to make it triumphant over all religions, though the idolaters abhor it.”

Matthew 5:43-45 "You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.” Romans 12:17-18 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. (Counsel) 42: 38 – Let evil be rewarded with like evil. But He that forgives and seeks reconcilement shall be rewarded by God.

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? (The Table) 5: 73 – “Indeed those who say: 'Allah is the third of the Trinity’ became unbelievers. (Women) 4: 101 - “The unbelievers are your inveterate enemies.” (Sovereignty) 66: 9 - “Prophet, make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites, and deal sternly with them. Hell shall be their home, evil their fate.” (The Proof) 98: 6 - “The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans shall burn for ever in the fire of Hell. They are the vilest of all creatures.”

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? It is narrated by Abu Huraira and Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: It was Friday from which Allah diverted those who were before us. For the Jews (the day set aside for prayer) was Sabt (Saturday), and for the Christians it was Sunday. And Allah turned towards us and guided us to Friday (as the day of prayer) for us. In fact, He (Allah) made Friday, Saturday and Sunday (as days of prayer). In this order would they (Jews and Christians) come after us on the Day of Resurrection. We are the last of (the Ummahs) among the people in this world and the first among the created to be judged on the Day of Resurrection. Sahih Muslim (Hadith) Book 004, Number 1862

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? Will they not contemplate upon the Koran? If it had been from other than Allah, they would surely have found in it many contradictions. Koran (Women) 4: 82

Can the Cross & the Crescent Coexist? The heart of the discerning acquires knowledge; the ears of the wise seek it out. Proverbs 18:15
