The symbol used for the Mexican peso is the same as our dollar sign - $ Mexico City (México, D.F.) is the capital. It is the largest city in the western hemisphere with a population of over 22 million in the greater Mexico City area.

Día de los Muertos – Nov. 2 nd which honors the deceased.

9 Indigenous Cultures Aztecs Mayans The Aztecs were located in what is today Mexico City. One of the most popular Aztec artifacts can be seen today in the National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City. It is called the Piedra del Sol or the Sun Calendar. It weighs over 25 tons! The Mayans inhabited the Yucatan Peninsula area. They were known for their great math skills. The Ruins of the ancient city of Chichén Itzá include structures built for worship, sports and studying astronomy.
