KGA 6 th Grade 214-2015 Biosphere2 Adventure Welcome, Parents. Thank you for being here. Please pick up an Information Packet from the table. Thank you. Early arrivers, please take a moment to complete and turn in the Permission Slip/Medical Release form (green) from your packet. Please include any updates to your emergency contact information on the reverse side of the Permission Slip.

Drop Off Arrangements Buses leave at 10am, March 4 th. Please have students at school at normal time, or in classrooms no later than 9:30am. Consider making alternate arrangements if your student rides CUSD bus to school; luggage on school bus will be cumbersome. If you wish to see off the buses, please wait at front of school, not at classrooms. Remind notification sent when underway and at arrival.
Pick Up Arrangements Buses return at 3:30pm, March 6 th. Remind notification sent when underway and for any delay in arrival time. CUSD bus riders will not make their homebound buses. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up at KGA.

Biosphere2 Experience - Daily Menus Wednesday, March 4 Breakfast Provided at home Lunch Sack lunch from home or KGA kitchen (inform teachers by Feb. 25 that a KGA lunch is required.) Dinner Tossed Salad, Beef Lasagna, Eggplant Parmesan, Mixed Vegetables, Garlic Bread, Dessert, Iced Tea
Biosphere2 Experience - Daily Menus Friday, March 6 Breakfast Hot Oatmeal, Fresh Fruit, Assorted Cold Cereals, Hard Boiled Eggs, Juice, Coffee, Milk Lunch Deli Sandwich Buffet (ham, turkey, chicken salad, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, condiments), Chips, Cookies, Lemonade Snacks will be provided each day. Please do not send food for students to store in their casitas or their luggage. Thank you.
Packing List Personal electronics (e.g. phones, tablets, e-readers, mp3 players) are not permitted on this trip. All clothing must adhere to dress codes as contained in KGA 2014-2015 Parent/Student Handbook Please refrain from bringing short shorts, bikinis and revealing tank tops. Backpack – all participants need to bring something to carry water bottle, Science notebook, and writing supplies for the day.
Packing List - Clothing Clothing - In addition to the Biosphere guidelines above, all clothing needs to comply with dress code regulations contained in KGA Parent/Student Handbook. 4-6 Shirts/Blouses/Tops 2-4 pairs Pants/Shorts 1-2 pair of Jeans 3-4 pairs Socks 4-5 pairs of Undergarments Sweater or Sweatshirt Rainwear (umbrella, poncho, rain jacket) Long sleeve t-shirt Scarf/Headband/Bandana/ Sun hat 1 pair Closed-toe walking shoes/Sneakers Belt Sunglasses (lens cleaning cloth/supplies)

Student Behavior Expectations and Biosphere Code of Conduct Behavior is expected to be consistent with KGA expectations. Biosphere requires student-signed copy of their own Code of Conduct. (yellow form) Listen to and respect chaperones and Biosphere2 staff. Behavior not consistent with these expectations may result in immediate non-participation of all activities and possible parental pick up from Biosphere Campus. Please review and complete yellow form and return to school no later than Feb. 18 th.
Permission Slip and Medical Release Form Please consider completing and turning in tonight. Please check From Home or From School for Wednesday’s sack lunch. Sign and date top and bottom portions (Permission and Medical Release) Fill in with PRIMARY Emergency Contact number. (If you wish to include more than one number, please add them to form, or on back.)
Medical Information If you need to send prescriptions for morning, afternoon, or evening, you must complete a Medication Consent Form (MCF) and submit no later than March 2nd. (One medication per MCF.) Package all necessary medication, dosages/special instructions in the original container with the label intact, in zippered baggie with child’s name on it and deliver directly to school nurse no later than March 2. If you want your child to receive OTC medicines, you must complete a MCF. (Only one medicine per form.) Tylenol is the only OTC medicine that does not require a MCF. However, you must add your child to the list of students to whom we are authorized to give Tylenol. We have a list of students currently authorized. See us to find out if your student is authorized. Being added to this list can only be accomplished at the KGA office through the nurse.
