This presentation will show you that one story can be percieved differently if it were told in a different genre. Although the plot does not change, your attitude toward the story might.

She is shadowed by the trees implying that evil will come out of it. She does not have power in this image, but it is the forest with all the power.

19 Generic Conventions Effects From looking at these two pictures, it becomes clear that generic conventions have the power to suggest two completely different versions of the same story. Although the plot may be no different in each story, the genre that effects setting can provide many different connotations when discussing stories and narratives.
