WELCOME TO 2 ND GRADE! Ms. Ballard Math and Science
ALL ABOUT ME I love MATH and SCIENCE! I have been a teacher for 17 years. I have 4 cats inside and 2 cats outside. Garfield is my hero. I have a hard time learning names. Please be patient with me.
When the teacher speaks. When someone is on intercom. When group members talk. When other classmates talk.
All teachers! All staff! In the classroom. In the hall. In the lunchroom. In the gym. EVERYWHERE!
Work quietly – do not disturb people around you. Use a quiet voice when working with a partner or in a group. Do not talk in the hallway, we do not want to disrupt or distract another class that is working.
Treat others the way you want to be treated. Say nice things. Think before you speak – do not hurt other peoples feelings. Keep hands and feet to yourself. Do not bother other people stuff.
Stay FOCUSED! Complete your work when assigned. Don’t waste time. You will have to finish your work, might as well do it when it is assigned.
Bring your backpack and binder everyday. Turn in homework on time.
CLASSROOM PROCEDURES Getting up out of your seat – you stay in your seat unless given permission. If you need a Kleenex, you may get up without asking. Pencils are in your caddies. Crayons have your number of your desk – they belong to the desk not you. Classroom discussions – raise your hand, wait to be called on. Lining up – line order - line up in a straight line without talking. SmartBoard – we will learn as we use it. One to two people will use at a time, the others will wait in line in front of the board.
OUT OF THE ROOM PROCEDURES Bathroom Break A block away from the wall, a block in between. No talking in line or in the bathroom. Bathroom monitors will switch out weekly – they are to go to the bathroom first, then stand under the sign to make sure no one is playing. EVERYONE MUST TRY!! EVERYONE MUST TRY!! When you try, you can usually go! Bathroom Break A block away from the wall, a block in between. No talking in line or in the bathroom.
