Patentes Steril-Aire 5,334,347 Electric Discharge Device Aspects of the present invention are found in an electric discharge device comprising an envelope containing an electrode, a vaporizable material, and means for regulating the internal thermal condition so as to increase radiation output while improving the lifetime of the device. Further according to the invention, an electric discharge device is adapted to provide air sterilization in a vehicle's air conditioning system. 5,817,276 Method of UV Distribution in an Air Handling System A method and apparatus wherein a germicidal lamp's tube is positioned in a particular manner relative to the HVAC system such that the system coil and drain pan components are subjected to UVC radiation and an increased flux density of photons emitted therefrom, and the photons are continuously reflected and directed within and through the coil until absorbed. In this manner the flux density of the photons is increased, as well as the dosage of the photons actually applied to a surface or airborne microorganism, minimizing the occurrence of HVAC-sourced bioaerosols and effectively and efficiently killing the mold and bacteria that grow on the coil and in the drain pan of a HVAC system without producing a secondary contaminant. 5,866,076 Single-Ended Germicidal Lamp for HVAC Systems A germicidal lamp is disclosed. The lamp's tube has a single stem and may be installed in the lamp's fixture without touching the tube's envelope. The fixture includes a mounting mechanism and a damping mechanism which ease installation and render the tube less susceptible to adverse forces.

Patentes Steril-Aire 6,245,293 Cleaning and Maintaining a Drain Pan in an Air Handling System There are described apparatus and methods wherein ultraviolet light kills and/or degrades and vaporizes microorganisms and organic material which naturally form over time on a heat exchanger. As this matter is eliminated, the pressure drop is decreased (i.e., airflow is increased) and the heat exchange efficiency (capacity) is increased. Less energy per Btu removed is used by the cooling system, and less energy is used by the HVAC system to move air. 6,267,924 Reduction of Pressure Drop of a Cooling or Heating System There are described apparatus and methods wherein ultraviolet light kills and/or degrades and vaporizes microorganisms and organic material which naturally form over time on a heat exchanger. As this matter is eliminated, the pressure drop is decreased (i.e., airflow is increased) and the heat exchange efficiency (capacity) is increased. Less energy per Btu removed is used by the cooling system, and less energy is used by the HVAC system to move air. 6,280,686 Control of Health Hazards in an Air Handler There are described apparatus and methods wherein ultraviolet light kills and/or degrades and vaporizes microorganisms and organic material which naturally form over time on a heat exchanger. As this matter is eliminated, the pressure drop is decreased (i.e., airflow is increased) and the heat exchange efficiency (capacity) is increased. Less energy per Btu removed is used by the cooling system, and less energy is used by the HVAC system to move air.

Patentes Steril-Aire 6,313,470 Returning a Heat Exchanger's Efficiency to "As New" There are described apparatus and methods wherein ultraviolet light kills and/or degrades and vaporizes microorganisms and organic material which naturally form over time on a heat exchanger. As this matter is eliminated, the pressure drop is decreased (i.e., airflow is increased) and the heat exchange efficiency (capacity) is increased. Less energy per Btu removed is used by the cooling system, and less energy is used by the HVAC system to move air. 6,372,186 Germicidal Lamp for Harsh Environments A germicidal lamp for harsh environments is disclosed. the germicidal lamp is suited for outdoor installation on an HVAC system or related components. The germicidal lamp is made from materials resistant to splashing water, etc., and includes plural seals to protect the interior of the fixture and prevent leakage or contamination into or out of the HVAC system. 6,423,882 Airborne Gas Phase Sorption Enhancement Using Ultraviolet Light A method and apparatus are disclosed for gas phase sorption in which a sorption device having an inlet is provided in combination with a source of UV light. The UV light is directed at the inlet of the sorption device for the purpose of destroying organic gas phase compounds and the removal of residue, and OH radicals are formed by the UV light proximate the inlet of the sorption device to destroy organic gas phase compounds disposed on and proximate the inlet of the sorption device. The sorption device is reactivated in situ, the single pass efficiency of the sorption device is enhanced, and the mechanical useable service life of the sorption device is enhanced.

Patentes Steril-Aire 6,500,267 Reduction of Energy Consumption In a Cooling or Heating System Through UVC Irradiation There are described apparatus and methods wherein ultraviolet light kills and/or degrades and vaporizes microorganisms and organic material which naturally form over time on a heat exchanger. As this matter is eliminated, the pressure drop is decreased (i.e., airflow is increased) and the heat exchange efficiency (capacity) is increased. Less energy per Btu removed is used by the cooling system, and less energy is used by the HVAC system to move air. 6, Reducing volatile organic compounds and common organic odors to below threshold levels in a mechanically ventilated space A mechanical ventilation system, which obtains and maintains to below threshold reduced concentrations of volatile organic compounds and common organic odors in an air stream. The air stream has a concentration of volatile organic compounds of at least 100 parts per million and a temperature of between 30.degree. and 70.degree. F. The mechanical ventilation system comprises a duct, an air moving apparatus and a low-pressure germicidal lamp. The duct has a volume of at least five cubic feet for temporally containing and directing the air stream. The air moving apparatus moves the air stream through the duct at a speed of at least 100 cubic feet per minute. The low-pressure germicidal lamp is installed with respect to the duct such that the germicidal lamp, when energized, will irradiate the air stream passing through the duct. The germicidal lamp, when energized, produces ultraviolet radiation of approximately 254 nm with a power of at least 300 microwatts/cm2 at 1 meter for every 4 square feet of duct area, with substantially no ozone generated. Application of the ultraviolet light to the air stream reduces concentrations of volatile organic compounds and other common organic odors in an air stream to below thresholds such as ordinary olfactory detection.

Patentes Steril-Aire 6,627,000 UV irradiation of air handlers and other apparatus There are described apparatus and methods wherein ultraviolet light kills and/or degrades and vaporizes microorganisms and organic material which naturally form over time on a heat exchanger. As this matter is eliminated, the pressure drop is decreased (i.e., airflow is increased) and the heat exchange efficiency (capacity) is increased. Less energy per Btu removed is used by the cooling system, and less energy is used by the HVAC system to move air.
