Doing your homework (research, network & pursue) Develop deeper knowledge about the targeted customer. Target the right opportunities that offer “win/win” scenarios. Attend technical/industry events, develop rapport with technical project managers, and leverage your business relationships. Be objective and clearly articulate your capabilities and mission. Strategically team with other small/diverse businesses. Quickly adapt to the teaming-proposal needs and RFP scopes.
Advertise your industry footprint and expert/leadership status. Update online profiles for completeness and accuracy Be ready to meet FAR* requirements (e.g., FAR 9.104 and many others). Explain your current/past experience on federal projects. Be well versed on the following web sites: FedBizOpps.gov; CCR.gov; ORCA.bpn.gov; OSDBU.gov; SBA.gov… Optional: GovWin.com; INPUT.com; FedSources.com. *(Federal Acquisition Regulation); example: financial resources, satisfactory performance record, and delivery/performance.
