3. The Napoleonic Wars What do you remember about the war between Napoleonic France and the rest of Europe? This war causes American economy to boom. Why? France conquers most of Europe, but not England. Why? Economic Warfare (England vs. France) 1806 Berlin Decree: France established the “Continental System” which prevented England from trading with mainland Europe. Why did France do this? 1807 Orders in Council: England blockades Europe and prohibits neutral countries (e.g., U.S.) from carrying shipments of goods FROM an enemy country.
