2 Key Customer Themes : Christmas: The seasonal aisle is dedicated to Christmas confectionery, cards and wrapping paper. The aisle has overhead signs, bus stops and barkers. Tesco Finest: The Finest range is promoted on entry to the store with a display of available products, supported by high signs, bus stops, and barkers throughout the store. Alessi Crockery: Vouchers to get 70% off this range are available for every £20 spent. A display of Alessi Crockery is positioned on one gondola end. NEW The New Price Promise: Bigger and bolder signs are concentrated in the central aisle to promote this message. Clubcard Boost: The Clubcard boost is advertised in the Baby aisle. Tesco’s Bank Travel Money: This service is promoted at every checkout. General Feel: A variety of themed displays and shippers were sited throughout the store and the shelves were well stocked. Staff were on hand to assist customers. 3 Key Customer Themes : Christmas: The whole seasonal aisle is dedicated to Christmas. The store also has a Christmas shop advertised with header boards, shelf fins and shelf edge strips. ASDA Bank: “Turn On The Christmas Magic At Disney Land Paris” - every time you use your ASDA credit card you are entered into a competition to win a trip to Disney Land Paris. The promotion is advertised with overhead signs at the checkouts. Big Rollback: Rollback prices are highlighted with overhead signs and tax discs throughout the store. ASDA Price Guarantee: The “10% Cheaper or we’ll give you the difference” message is advertised at every checkout with overhead signs and a large sign outside the front of the store. Price Lock : The message, “Where prices go down and stay down” is predominantly displayed in the central aisle where the majority of ‘cupboard filler’ offers are situated. General Feel: The foyer of this store is usually full of promotions and hanging signs, however, there were just a few promotional FSDU’s. The shelves were well stocked and most tills were open. Big Christmas Bonus: The promotion with tokens to collect is advertised the throughout the store with hanging signs. The promotion offers a saving of £25 or £40 off of your Christmas shop if you continue collecting. 100% Availability: Guaranteed availability on Pick Of The Street deals is advertised with overhead signs. Christmas: The seasonal aisle has 9 bays dedicated to Christmas products supported with bus stops and shelf edge strips. Great Value: The “Great Value” slogan is visible throughout the store on high signs, concentrated on aisle ends. Fireworks : Fireworks were still available and Bonfire Night was promoted with promotional POS. General Feel: The store was busy with plenty of staff on the shop floor and at the checkouts. 5 Key Customer Themes : Christmas: The seasonal aisle has 9 bays dedicated to Christmas related items supported with header boards and shelf fins and shelf edge labels. Offers: Offers are sited on aisle ends throughout the store and are highlighted with header boards and shelf barkers. My Waitrose Loyalty Card: A £25 voucher to spend in January is available when you spend £50 or more four times in December. A free coffee is also available for card holders. The offers are advertised with a sign in the window at the front of the store. Brand Price Match: Green barkers, bus stops and large hanging signs state that Tesco’s prices are matched on branded groceries, excluding promotions. General Feel: The checkouts were busy although the store was generally quiet. Shelves weren’t fully stocked and very few staff were on the shop floor. Key Deals: A Great Night In: Save 1/3 on selected chilled pizzas, Indian and Oriental meals. Festive displays are located around the store with high signs on entry and at the checkouts. General Feel: A spacious and well stocked store, with plenty of staff filling shelves and assisting customers. Big Deals: The major offers in store are promoted on overhead signs, dump bins and POS with the “Big Deals” slogan Fairtrade: Picture displays on pillars highlight that The Co-Op care for the environment and communities when selecting products. General Feel: The store was tidy and had a large number of Big Deals signs throughout. Shelves were well stocked and plenty of staff were available. 8 Key Customer Themes : Christmas: This is the only theme within ALDI, with a variety of slogans in use, amongst them: “Glittering With Gold” “Specially Selected Christmas Pudding” “An Extra Special Event” “Merry Christmas From Your ALDI” “Festive 5 A Day” These messages are displayed on window posters, overhead signs, dump bins, header strips and shelf edge strips. There are 2 small free Christmas magazines available on exit; one advertising luxury Christmas food and drink, the other details special buys including kitchenware, clothing, DIY and food & drink. General Feel: The store was untidy but well stocked with floor stacks throughout. Food and drink was generally stocked around the sides of the store with a broad mix of items in the aisles. The store was busy with shoppers. The Christmas theme is continued with hanging bells, snow flakes and Christmas tree shapes. Additional POS advertises the addition of 200 lines for Christmas. Deluxe Range: Posters and header boards advertise the Deluxe range of products. Love Meat Love Lidl: Large hanging signs over the fresh and frozen meat sections advertise this message. Cheaper: Large signs on aisle ends together with smaller signs throughout the aisles display how much cheaper products are. Wine Cellar : 2 bays in the beers, wines and spirits are called ‘The Wine Cellar’ with crates displaying selected wines and the wine of the week (Prosecco). General Feel: The store was untidy but well stocked, with staff filling shelves and several tills were open. The car park was very busy, however, the store was quiet. Mobile By Sainsbury’s: The pay as you go network is promoted at every checkout. Brand Match : The slogan ”The deals you get at Tesco and ASDA without going to Tesco and ASDA” is visible on signs throughout the store and car park. There is an additional promotion to “Buy 2 and Save”. Great Offers: Different offers are promoted throughout the store on these signs. General Feel: A tidy and clean store with well stocked shelves. All checkouts carry promotional leaflets for Sainsbury’s Finance and Mobile by Sainsbury’s. There were plenty of staff available to assist customers.
