Exodus 20:5-6 “You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand {generations} of those who love me and keep my commandments.” We assign human attributes to God You’re a jealous parent You’re a jealous Husband or Wife The word jealousy speaks of ownership

16 And God spoke all these words, saying: “I am the L ORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Exodus 20:4-5 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them.”

Exodus 32: “Aaron answered."You know how prone these people are to evil. They said to me, 'Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him.' So I told them, 'Whoever has any gold jewellery, take it off.' Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!"

Exodus 32:1 “…they gathered around Aaron and said, "Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him.“ Exodus 32:5-6 “…he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, "Tomorrow there will be a festival to the LORD." So the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.”

John 4:23-24 “…true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." If your God is the God of the Bible, then you need to go with what the Bible says about Him Anything that gets in between you and God is an idol

Romans 3:19-20 “Now we know that whatever the law says it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped, and the whole world may be held accountable to God. For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin.” (ESV) If your God is the God of the Bible, then you need to go with what the Bible says about Him Anything that gets in between you and God is an idol The 10 Commandment can be broken up into 2 parts

Prayer of Salvation Heavenly Father, save me from my sins. I believe that Jesus died and shed His blood for me and He rose again so I could live for you. Fill me with your Holy Spirit so I can serve you with all of my heart, fully devoted to you. Thank you for new life; and tonight I give you my life In Jesus' name I pray.
