8 Story-Writing at School Story-writing in an EL course plan: choose the topic, plan 3(4) lessons for productive writing. Prepare key stories: find sample stories to introduce the problem / topic. Teach the students to write a story. 10 THE WRITING PROCESS 1. Pre-Writing Brain storming Clustering (spidergram) Listing 2. Free Writing 3. Drafting: initial writing, sometimes a revision of the free write; focus on content 4. Sharing the writing with peers; discussing the writing 5. Peer response: peers can praise and tell what they want to see more of. 6. Revising the writing; rewriting 7.
