NHS changes - summary: PCTs, strategic health authorities and the Health Protection Agency abolished Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) take on responsibilities for commissioning mainly hospital-based and other non-primary care health services NHS England has a national, regional and local presence and takes on many some PCT responsibilities e.g. primary care services, specialised commissioning and emergency planning.
NHS changes - summary: Local authorities take on new roles in relation to public health and health improvement Public Health England (PHE) is established as an Executive Agency of the Department of Health and will include the remit of the former Health Protection Agency.
