I am watching over my word to perform it. Disaster will come from the north.
I had planted you like a choice vine of sound and reliable stock. How then did you turn against me into a corrupt and wild vine? Jeremiah 2:21
“My people have forsaken me, the spring of living water. They have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.” Jeremiah 2:13
Pursue false idols. Defile the land. Run and run on our own strength. Drawing from broken cisterns My people have exchanged their Glory for worthless idols. 2:11 But you came and defiled my land and made my inheritance detestable. 2:7b Are addicted to foreign gods. You run until your feet are bare and your throat is dry. 2:25 But you said, ‘It’s no use! I love foreign gods, and I must go after them. 2:23
Pursue God. Enjoy the blessings of the land. Rely on the spring of living water. Abundant Life Ask where the good way is, and walk in it. 6:16 I brought you into a fertile land to eat its fruit and rich produce. 2:7 Grow as a choice vine, rooted in one God. Surely in the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel 3:23 We will come to you, for you are the Lord our God 3:22
This is the temple of the Lord!... the temple of the Lord,... the temple of the Lord.
“Hear the word of the Lord, all you people of Judah who enter these gates to worship the Lord... Amend your ways and your doings, and I will let you dwell in this place. Do not trust in these deceptive words, “This is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.” 7:3-4
“Has this house, which bears my Name, become a den of robbers to you? But I am watching! 7:11 It is written, ‘My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.’ But you have made it a den of robbers.” Mark 11
Go now to my place that was in Shiloh, where I made my name dwell at first, and you will see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people. Jeremiah 7:12
“If you will return,” declares the Lord “... in a truthful, just, and righteous way... then the nation will be blessed.” 4:2 To re-think: What does it mean to repent? penser (French) pensare (Italian) pensar (Spanish) “Deal with each other justly.” “Do not oppress the alien, the fatherless, or the widow.” “Do not shed innocent blood.” “Do not follow other gods.” Jeremiah 6
