Directing Emphasis to One Overarching Goal: Reproducing CPMs David S. Lim, Ph.D. G.C. Mobilizers Summit, CNX 21 Jan. 2015
God’s Goal: Realizing ‘Kingdomization’ in Christ-Centered Communities (CCC) God’s - 1 Tim.2:3-5; 2 Pet.3:8-9; Lk.15:1-7. Christ’s - Matt.16:18-19; Rev.21:24-27. OT ‘shalom’ - Isa. 65:17-25. NT ‘kingdom of God’: future yet already present thru the church – to fill the world w/ God’s ‘LOVE & good works’ – Matt.25:31-46; Heb.10:24-25; 2 Tim.3:16-17; Eph.2:10; 3:10.
God’s strategy: Reproducing CPMs Jesus’ model of “making disciples” in each community thru a ‘person of peace’ – Lk.10:6; Matt. 10:11 In Galilee & Judea – Matt.10:1-16; Lk.10:1-21 In Samaria - Jn. 4:4-43 In Decapolis (Greeks) – Mk. 5:1-20; 7:31-8:10.
Paul’s model of CPM, too! Saturation evangelization of Asia Minor (today’s Turkey) – Acts 19:1-10 & of whole northern Mediterranean ‘from Jerusalem to Illyricum’ – Rom. 15:17-20 For outsiders – become a ‘slave’ & ‘all things to all men’ – 1 Cor. 9:19-23 For insiders – remain in professional & socio- religious identity, & develop socio-economic status – 1 Cor. 7:17-24.
Our task: Mobilizing CCC-organizers for CPMs Practice the ‘priesthood of all believers’ (1 Pet. 2:9-10; Rev. 1:6): just make disciples who can make disciples – 2 Tim. 2:2; Eph.4:11-13; Rom. 15:16. Every Christ-follower an Acts 1:8 disciple-maker! Disciples just need 3 Christ-centered life/love skills (cf. Mk.3:13-15; Mic.6:8; Rom.15:14): 1.intimacy w/ God thru prayer & His Word 2.intimacy w/ a few Christ-followers 3.friendship evangelism w/ non-Christians. Note: 86% of non-Christians don’t know a Christian!
Let’s multiply disciple-makers for CPMs! Focus on tentmaker movements - unskilled, skilled, professionals & businessfolks (BAM) Models: PM3/PMA, B2J, AFMI, ETHNE, FMF, GHCMs Cru – ‘movements everywhere’ Let’s mobilize for reproducing CPMs! All UPGs can be reached in our generation… “& then the end will come”! Let’s just do it - make our own disciples & send them to disciple the unreached! As much as possible, model being a tentmaker/BAMer yourself! – Ac. 20:33-35; 2 Thess. 3:6-15.
Mobilizing local churches to support tentmakers & BAMers Goal: have a responsible advocate/POP to keep head pastor/missions pastor/missions committee chair updated. Be sure they are educated in missions (& CPM!) -Perspectives, Kairos (T4T, DMM, TCC, UOI, etc) Provide updates for prayer, promote in prayer meetings & missions events, sit in missions committee, challenge them to visit your TM/BAMer… Partner w/ an Ephesus Team of ETHNE.

The Holy Spirit is rapidly transforming Christianity – back to NT He is putting at the core structure of His renewed Church -- small groups that are: Interactive – Heb. 10:24 Informal - 1 Cor. 14:26 Exciting and Geared to rapid multiplication = House/simple/organic church networks!
This is the beginning of the end for ‘comfort zone’ Christianity For centuries, the main way to express your Christian identity has been by “going to church” There, a lone, overworked (often underpaid) pastor exhorted you to be holy, love your neighbor, be salt and light, and do great stuff for God.
