Westin Philippine Plaza (now Sofitel Philippine Plaza) Flower arrangement of Heliconia wagnerana or Bird-of-Paradise Decoration for the ballroom - banana-like plant to 1.2 m long. Leaves are green, oblong, to 1.8 m long and to 30 cm wide. Inflorescence is erect and sessile; bracts are to 20, overlapping, 2-ranked, deep pink to pale crimson-cream at the base and with greenish edge. Flowers are white with dark green tips.
Vriessea carinata -A showy herb to 30 cm. leaves are to 20 cm long and 1.5 cm wide, green; scape is obliquely erect. Inflorescence is a flattened spike, longer than the leaves; bracts are deep yellow, to 5cm long. Makati Shangrila
-Decoration -to maximize dead spaces CHRYSANTHEMUM INDICUM MANZANILLA/ ROSAS DE JAPON Perennial, stoloniferous herb, to 1m tall. Leaves are alternate, ovate to oblong-ovate, to 8cm long, with pinnately cleft margins. Leaf surface is felty gray beneath. Flower head is about 2.5 cm across, in loose terminal corymbs. Disc and ray flowers are yellow. Fruit is a somewhat winged, nearly cylindrical, ribbed achene.
