3 ◦ An opportunity to apply for additional Part B funds if the school has an increase in: 1.Increase high needs or 2.10% increase of students with disabilities from the previous year -Schools can apply for only Priority 1 or 2, not both. -School must attach a list of students by NASIS numbers only 3. Unique circumstance (narrative and budget) Schools can apply for only Priority 1 or 2, not both School must attach a list of students by NASIS numbers only

4  School to Review: 1.Student attrition – SY student count versus SY student count. 2.Funding received from:  15% ISEP,  SY 2012 Carry-over and  Current Part B funds/allocation received for SY Coordinated Early Intervening Services (CEIS)  Up to 15% of Part B funds to general education 4.Assess the information and determine whether to apply for Unmet Needs

5  Native Star – Docs & Links tab  Complete and sign application by school administrator, business manager and Special Education coordinator/Head teacher.  Attached with Student list with NASIS # numbers only with Priority 1 or 2.  Save and upload into Native Star file cabinet –IDEA Part B SY ◦ Label file as : SchoolName_PtB Unmet Needs App_SY13-14  Due Friday in September 13, 2013

6  Review the application  Compare student count data from SY and student count the school provides.  Evaluate all funds the schools has received.  Review all IEP’s in NASIS (current and locked)  Read and review Unique Circumstances  Notify schools of results and submit FDD request
