How many kinds of cells are there? List as many as you can in your notebook at your table.

6 Make a slide! 1. Scrape the inside of your cheek using one of the clean cotton buds. 2. Smear it onto a slide and add a drop of methylene blue. 3. Carefully lower a cover slip onto the smear using a mounted needle or sharp pencil point. 4. Place the slide on the microscope stage and focus on it under low power. 5. Change to a higher power lens. 6. Draw two or three cells. 7. Label the cell membrane, nucleus and cytoplasm. 8. Compare your slide with a plant slide, how are they the same? How are they different?

7 Homework Write a simple description of the job of each part of the animal and plant cell,
