2 Course Project The Local Scene The task for students: – Create an editorial cartoon on their Home Town or State Hot Topic – Research, brainstorm, rough out, and finish a cartoon that recaps all of the lesson topics.

3 Kelly Fraser 1: Voters supplying proper identification.

4 Kelly Fraser 2: Manchester City Government contributing only pennies to education.

5 Jill Haber: Raymond, NH citizen, Joe Pratt, climbed Mt. Everest to call attention to the battle against polio.

6 Alyson Mireault: In light of Keenes surge in robberies and break-ins, police are accused of being too few in number and unresponsive.

7 Gerri Russell: City students are glad that school’s out for the summer.

8 Lee Mohnkern: A Very strong teacher’s union holds up the wall of education against budget cutting assaults.

9 Jessica Gray: Rumors fly in the face of education budget cuts.

10 Kate Messner: State legislators take multiple “shots” at less than important issues and only one attempt at the most important one.

11 Nicole James: New Hampshire checks and balances work well as judicial disciplines legislative.
