5. Social Studies Overview Mrs. Cherian – Social Studies This school year we will learn about world cultures. We study the continents around the world and focus on their history, geography, economy, government and culture. These are the specific topics:  Basic Geography and Culture  Latin America  Europe  Asia  Middle East  Africa  Australia/Antarctica/Oceania Students will investigate historical and contemporary events in these societies and understand the relationships that exist among world cultures.
