14 National polyp study 1978-1993 l A cohort of >1400 patients who had undergone colonoscopy and removal of adenomas was followed by colonoscopy for a mean of 5.9 years. l 70%-90% reduction was found in the incidence of colorectal cancers relative to what was expected based on 3 different historical control groups.
