The Mental Domain has an indirect link to the Art. The Arcane and Divine Domains have a buffer between their users and the Art. Channelers draw their power directly from the Art and simply allow the Art to flow through their bodies before they “channel” that energy. They face no obstacles in this approach to the utilization of the Art. Wizards, Sorcerors and Bards must overcome a certain type of “wall” before they can utilize the Art. They must open a “hole” in the wall to allow them access to the Art. Wizards study their craft and the formulas used to make holes in the wall. Bards use song and music to rend holes, while Sorcerors simply have an innate talent for punching through this wall. Only the Arcane casters can utilize the Shadow Weave, the Dark aspect of the Art. Clerics and Paladins gain their use of the Art through their faith. That is the obstacle they face in using the Art. The devout are granted their power by their beliefs, typically in their god. Rangers and Druids must content with the natural forces of nature to use the Art. They study the intricacies in nature and use their belief to fuel the natural formulas in order to create the effects they wish to achieve. Psions and PsychicWarriors use the power of their mind to use the Art. They use their sheer will to control the Art. The method that they use makes their power different from that of the other casters. While originating from the Art, it is changed by the will of the user into something different.
