Famous People who have been caught Plagiarizing!! e=fvwrel

PLAGIARISM IN THE DIGITAL AGE How do you define cheating? Why do students cheat? Each year, research shows that 90% of high school students report they have cheated % report they have plagiarized. From the “Achieving with Integrity Project” University of Connecticut 2009

PLAGIARISM IS STUPID SO SAYS JONATHAN BAILEY IN THE MARCH 24, 2010 EDITION OF PLAGIARISM TODAY. IN FACT, ALL IDEAS AND QUOTES IN THIS SLIDE SHOW ARE THE WORK OF JONATHAN BAILEY AND FROM HIS ARTICLE TITLED “THE STUPIDITY OF PLAGIARISM”.

WHY IS IT STUPID? YOU ASK

IT’S CALLED GOOGLE (And here at North, TurnItIn.com) You found it, so can anyone else! (including your teachers, professors, and the authors and creators you are stealing from)

RUSSIAN ROULETTE The odds of getting caught increase quickly the more you plagiarize.

THE REALLY DUMB PART “The plain truth is that, when one plagiarizes, they undertake a huge risk but gain almost nothing in return. The time it takes to provide attribution to content is insignificant compared to the time it takes to find the work in the first place.”

BOTTOM LINE “If you are plagiarizing as a shortcut, you are wasting your time. If you are plagiarizing to cover up your own perceived deficiencies, you’ll more likely find yourself arousing suspicion.”

WHAT CAN YOU DO? 1.Read the information! 2.Put the text away, and take short notes in your own words. 3.Practice the “art and habit” of using your own words. 4.Have confidence in your ability to create your own work. 5.Give credit! NoodleTools, EasyBib!
