Web browsers It’s a software application for retrieving and presenting information on WWW. An information resource is identified by a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) and may be a web page, image, video or other piece of content. The major web browsers are Firefox, Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Opera, and Safari.
Internet explorer (Microsoft Internet Explorer)
History First released as part of addon package for Win95 Later versions were available as free downloads, or in service packs, and included in the OEM service releases of Windows 95 and later The latest stable release is Internet Explorer 11, with an interface allowing for use as both a desktop application, and as a Windows 8 application.
Features of IE 11 Tabs New-Tab Page – It show tiles for your frequently visited sites (which you can edit or hide), but it also lets you reopen recently closed tabs, reopen the last session, or start InPrivate browsing. Pinned Sites ! Extensions – Internet Explorer does have an extension capability, but there's nowhere near as rich an ecosystem for it as there is for Firefox's.

Security Had some major vulnereabilities over the past decade – It was several times recomended to use another browser. In 2011, a report by Accuvant rated the security of Internet Explorer worse than Google Chrome but better than Mozilla Firefox.
