The Jews were Led by Grand Mufti Hajj Amin El Husseini. They rioted and later revolted Jewish immigration halted the Palestine invasion. Shortly after the holocaust pressured Britain to get the Jews in Israeli faster. In 1947, the UN partitioned the land into Arab & Jewish states. The Arabs rejected and the war broke out…
Conflict and Key Issues of War The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is an ongoing dispute between Israel and the Palestinians. Although the conflict is wide-ranging, the key issues are border security, water rights, control of Jerusalem, land rights, and legalities concerning refugees. The violence resulting from the conflict has prompted other security and human rights concerns on both sides and internationally. It forms part of the wider Arab-Israeli conflict.
Key Issues Continued Many attempts have been made to broker a two-state solution, which would entail the creation of an independent Palestinian state along side an independent Jewish state or next to the state of Israel ( after Israel establishment in 1948). As of 2009, a majority of both Israelis and Palestinians, according to a number of polls, prefer the two-state solution over any other solution as a means of resolving the conflict. Within Israeli and Palestinians society, the conflict generates a wide variety of views and opinions. This highlights the deep divisions which exist not only between Israeli and Palestinians, but also within each society.
Intifada The intifada started in December of It all began when children started throwing stones at the police officers because they were mad at them for killing people. It was the only activity that anyone did during this time. The children were known as the “Children of Stones”. During the intifada, people were beaten, embarrassed, harassed, killed, etc. The only so-called role models during this time were the kids who were wanted by the authorities. Due to these actions, children became traumatized.
