2 WHY CAMPUS MINISTRY? Students comprise one of the greatest reservoir of manpower for the cause of Jesus Christ – Dennis Taylor “If we can win the university today, we can win the world tomorrow” –Dr. Bill Bright

3 OUR BIBLICAL MANDATE: And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. (Mathew 28:18-20)

6 Where do we envisioned for 5 Years? 2 Staff Worker in Each State EFG Co-ordinators = 3 Active Graduates to be raised to support Ministry = 500 Students Disciples – Turnover of 100 Students per Year Mission Workers/Cross Cultural – 50 TentMakers/

7 Present Trend Student more career oriented Students attracted to media and music More emphasis on worship and feel good Religion getting less priority Erosion of moral values in society Individualism vrs community

8 SWOT ANALYSIS STRENGTHS Open Home, Core Values, QT Graduates supporting the Ministry Grassroots ministry specialised in student’s ministry Bible Centred and balanced ministry Accepted by the Mainline Churches

10 SWOT ANALYSIS WEAKNESS Passion for the lost and lack of witnessing Graduates lack focus and involved in many other ministries Lack of ownership of the ministry Activity/programme oriented than people centered Systematic follow-up of new converts

11 SWOT ANALYSIS WEAKNESS Lack of upto date training resources, methodologies Lack of Sharing of Resources within the constituency Mentoring of students by graduates Lacking Administrative Skills/Management of resources

12 WEAKNESS Ministry not attracting more top rung students Erosion of quality of graduates in ministry Inability of Graduates ministry to impart vertical training in specific areas Standing in the Gap and Prayer Life

16 SETTING OBJECTIVES Where do we want to be? Shift focus from evangelism from conventional christian to FOF Student Reaching Student Evangelism Department at State level Implement IFES Gospel project systematically

17 SETTING OBJECTIVES Where do we want to be? Planned Ministry Development Sustained and regular flow of finances from constituent units Setting standards in Teaching, Discipleship and Missions Planned Syllabus for EU Bible Studies

18 STRATEGIC PLANS AND CREATIVE APPROACHES How do we get there? Strengthen Regional Office and create State Offices in Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh Graduates/Students database development Leverage on the Web for information access, sharing and exchange. Effective follow up of ex-students from all States

19 What needs to be done? Prayer – Form Micro Prayer Cell (1 Graduate, 1 senior student and 1 new EU student) Accountability Partner – Develop prayer partner Form ministry teams – develop core strengths Small Group Bible Study Form Mission Interest Group (MIG)

20 STRATEGIC PLANS AND CREATIVE APPROACHES How do we get there? Impart systematic teaching on Biblical Basics Biblical answers to contemporary issues Teach issues of engaging with the society and social concerns to students

21 STRATEGIC PLANS AND CREATIVE APPROACHES How do we get there? Make Teaching of UESI History, core values mandatory in all EU’s Enhance Graduate’s participation in student’s ministry Graduates should be encouraged to develop vertical expertise on specific areas/subjects

22 STRATEGIC PLANS AND CREATIVE APPROACHES How do we get there? All UESI Publications to be popularised among the constituents units Systematic teaching on Giving and Stewardship Keep all channels of communication open with National UESI with two way flow

23 STRATEGIC PLANS AND CREATIVE APPROACHES Student Centres in every State Counselling and trained student counsellor needed Development of Local Leaders for grassroots ministry

24 CONCERN AREAS EU reach is less than 2% of student population High Drop out rate Use of contemporary methods of evangelism inadequate Support mechanism for those coming from other faiths Involvement in cross cultural missions

25 SUMMARY/CONCLUSION Getting your hands soiled Catch the Vision, Keep the Vision and Obey the Vision Give yourself as the Fuel, God will ignite the Flame “ You cannot pass on to others what you do not have yourself”
