The Challenge The need for colleges to do better recruitment is critical and greater than ever. What worked yesterday, will not work today. Schools are changing the way they deal with adult recruits, offering a more tailored recruiting experience for non-traditional students. The Northeast region of the US saw a 9.5% decline in graduating students. (http://www.uversity.com/blog/how-should-colleges-respond-to-declining-student-populations/)http://www.uversity.com/blog/how-should-colleges-respond-to-declining-student-populations/ According to the 2013 Marketing and Student Recruitment Practices Benchmark Report, only about one-third to one-half of respondents across institution types reported having a strategic, multi-year enrollment plan that they felt good about. All major retail purchases AND life decisions are researched much more thoroughly than even 3 to 5 years ago. (see Decision Funnel)
The Changing Environment The decision making process has changed! On line research occurs throughout the entire process
The Solution It is essential schools touch recruits with your message, in a variety of different ways, BEFORE they start making choices. The use of different media is now paramount in bolstering recruitment. To that end, WROC - TV and Rochester Homepage have partnered with the KIWANIS CLUB of Farmington-Victor to present the 2014 Eastview College Fair, Tuesday, September 24, 7pm-9pm, at Eastview Mall in Victor, NY. Your school can also receive the year round exposure of a digital Virtual College Fair in addition to the well attended College Fair event! Nexstar Broadcasting is offering a multi-platform Sponsorship opportunity that will include commercial messages on Television, and an on-line resource for graduatings students and adults all year long… …all designed to work in concert to help increase your recruitment efforts!
