5 Wednesday, 16 July 2008 RSS – MoEnv Solid Waste Assessment Project General-Mafraq Mafraq landfill is located 25km east of Mafraq city, occupying an area of 380 dunums. The average rainfall at the area of the landfill is 100mm/year which indicate that the landfill is locate in a dry climate area. The landfill is placed on a volcanic area with 2-3m of top soil

23 Wednesday, 16 July 2008 RSS – MoEnv Solid Waste Assessment Project Solidwaste quantities The landfill was receiving around 2200 ton/day of solidwaste, according to biogas company 12 million ton of waste was dumped at the site. The amount of waste dumped at the site was estimated to be 11.2 million ton using average waste per day of 2200 ton and 14 years of operation.

25 Wednesday, 16 July 2008 RSS – MoEnv Solid Waste Assessment Project General The landfill is located 6 km to the north- west of Maghareeb area in the Salt municipality over an area of 200 dunums. There are a number of houses and farms close to the site, nearest house is 500 m away from the site.
