Tuesday, April 28, 2015 B-Day Objective: YWBAT describe the advantages and disadvantages of different energy sources. Drill: Create a concept map using the following words; Biomass, Nonrenewable resources, Coal, Wind energy, Energy resources, Petroleum, Gasohol, Natural gas, Hydroelectric power, Gasoline, Jet fuel, Solar energy, Renewable resources Homework Energy Sources Poster Project due 1/13 Return NorthBay forms
Did you know…? There are essentially three sources that could be responsible for the global warming that scientists see: The sun, the earth's reflectivity, and greenhouse gases. Scientists have looked carefully at each of these factors. The only one where the data matches up is greenhouse gases -- levels of these gases have risen sharply as we burn more fossil fuels.
Today’s Activities Drill Review Energy sources Graphic Organizer Introduce Energy Sources Project Conclusion
Closure Explain the difference between biomass and gasohol.
Conclusion Answer Biomass is organic matter that contains stored energy, while gasohol is a fuel made from plant biomass.
