Settler Schedule 6 day cycle 80 minutes of Language Arts and Math instruction each day. 40 minutes of Social Studies and Science Recess is 15 minutes. Lunch is 30 minutes. Special Flex/Target Time
Everyday Mathematics Ten Units broken into multiple lessons “Lesson 1.7” –1-denotes Unit –7-denotes lesson Topics: Interpretation of Data, Operations with Numbers & Decimals, Variables, Formulas & Graphs, Number Uses & Operations, Geometry, Algebra Concepts, Probability & Discrete Math, Rates & Ratios, Geometry Topics
Everyday Mathematics Components: –Math Binder –Math Journal (workbook) –Student Reference Book (SRB –Supplies –Family Letters (packet sent home TONIGHT with all units)

Assessments Basic Math Facts (1x per quarter) Lesson Quizzes Vocabulary Projects Unit Tests –End of Unit with Open-Ended Questions –Study Guides –Use Quizzes given as review **All Unit Tests and quizzes will be sent home for parent signature

Homework Major Subjects Review and reinforcement of skills Homework FYI: ~ points for completion, neatness, & effort ~ typically worth 2pts ~ ½ credit for late homework
Homework Policy (per month) One missed homework assignment = recess detention Three missed homework assignments = after school detention (held Tuesdays and Thursdays until 4:40 p.m.)
