Unpaid Meal Charges Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) agency of USDA published a Request for Information (RFI) FNS is interested in policy and procedure details in schools regarding allowing children to “charge” the cost of a school meal related on unpaid meal charges. 10. Equipment Preapproval Process USDA requires that future equipment purchases over the school’s capitalization threshold be preapproved. A list of preapproved equipment has been developed. All materials are being reviewed and will be posted to our website shortly. Our target for implementation is January 1, 2015.
