Systems Thinking Line Graph Field of Dreams Ray Kinsella
I can measure a behavior of Ray Kinsella from the film Field of Dreams through my notes on his role, personality, and development (character analysis) to plot and track his progress using a Systems Thinking Line Graph. This will give you most or all the information you will need to create your Character Analysis essay. Learning Goal
Commonly called a “Behavior Over Time Graph”. We are seeing how the thing you put on the Y axis (e.g. fear, happiness, anger, etc.) changes over time. A systems thinking graph allows for someone to track a character’s or person’s changes. Things that can be tracked: Being Moral vs. Unmoral Having Fear vs. Not Having Fear Being a Monster vs. Being “Human” Being Happy vs. Being Miserable Reaching a Goal vs. Falling Away from a Goal Etc. (there are many many many possibilities) What is a Systems Thinking Line Graph?
Example: Being Excited vs. Not Being Excitement (Levels of Excitement for a Character in The Widow’s Broom)
Based on our Learning Goal, what are you thinking you’ll measure on your Systems Thinking Line Graph for Ray Kinsella? Write down 3+ behaviors/trends you think you could measure and track. Be prepared to share these with a neighbor/class Learning Goal: I can measure a behavior of Ray Kinsella from the film Field of Dreams through my notes on his role, personality, and development (character analysis) to plot and track his progress using a Systems Thinking Line Graph. What Are You Thinking?
You must include the following: 1.A descriptive title that accurately explains your graph 2.Labels for the X and Y axis X axis is always time but you have the freedom to pace it out 3.At least 10 points on your graph Each point must be a significant event or quote (must use at least 4 quotes) 4.Justification/Support for why your line goes up, down, or stays the same Graph Success Criteria What you must have to know you were successful at making this graph
Your Systems Thinking Line Graph is due next class Tuesday, March 4 th at the beginning of the period. Due Date
