History of Independence… Scotland was an independent country from its foundation in the Early Middle Ages (traditionally 843) until 1707. In the beginning of 1603, the countries which formed the Union shared the same monarch when James VI of Scotland was declared King of England and Ireland, following the death of Queen Elizabeth I in what was known as the Union of the Crowns. In the previous election we denied Scotland to be independent and when we interviewed Anne Begg. She said that Scotland shouldn’t be Independent because with the rest of The UK we have the best of both worlds by not having to worry over the Military and terrisom.
