The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light shine upon the valley of death. Anguish has taken wing. Darkness is overwhelmed. Gloom and distress have vanished. You bring great rejoicing, Lord. You have smashed the yoke that burdens us, the pole on our shoulders, the rod of our slave master. Isaiah 8:23-9:5
From end to end, all earth shall turn to the Lord and worship Him. All families of all nations shall bow down before Him. Generations to come shall be told of the Lord, that they may proclaim to people yet unborn the salvation He has bestowed. Psalm 22:28,32
Praise to You oh Father, for what You have hidden from the wise, You have revealed to little children. Luke 10:21
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came to be through Him. And without Him, nothing came to be.
The Light glowed in the darkness, and the darkness could not overcome the Light. What came to be through Him was life, which was the light of the human race.
He was in the world that came to be thru Him, but the world did not know Him. He came to what was His own, but His own did not accept Him.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. John 1:1-11,14-15
When you cross turbulent waters, I shall be with you. In the wild rivers, you shall not drown.
When you walk through fire, you shall not be burned. No flames shall consume you, as I am with you always.
For I am the Lord, your God, your Saviour, the Holy One.
For you are precious and glorious in My eyes, and I love you. Isaiah 43:2-8
Suffer the little children to come to Me, and I shall nourish them through you.
I send My justice like soft rain from the sky,
to quench the parched earth.
… and bring salvation to all. Isaiah 45:8
I have come as Light into the world, that whoever believes in Me, may not remain in darkness. John 12:46
Come to Me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I shall give you rest.
Take My yoke and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble of heart.
My yoke is sweet, and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30
Love is patient, love is kind. Love is not jealous, it does not put on airs. Love is not proud. It is not rude or self-seeking. It is not prone to anger nor does it brood over hurt.
Love does not rejoice in falsehood but in truth. There is no limit to love’s forbearance, to its trust and its hope, its power to endure. Love never fails.
There are in the end three things that last, faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8,13
Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for Me. Weep instead for yourselves, and for your children …
… for the days are coming when people will say, blessed are the barren and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never nursed. Luke 23:28-29
Return to Me your Lord your God with fasting and weeping. Rend your hearts not your garments. For I am gracious and merciful, slow to anger, rich in kindness, relenting in punishment. Joel 2:12-13
A woman clothed with the sun shall crush the head of the serpent, and hence all generations shall call her blessed. Revelation 12-1
