T EST M APPING Test mapping, also known as test blueprinting, is a process by which you identify which questions on your exams match up to the SLOs you’ve identified for the Program or Course and to the level of cognitive activity the question requires, using Bloom’s Taxonomy of measurable verbs. Use one map per test. The same process can be readily applied to projects with multiple parts or elements. Use one map per project.

P ROJECT M APPING The same underlying principles behind test mapping can also be used to map a project with multiple parts. For example, an English professor would look for the following attributes in a research paper: Ideas Organization Structure Voice Word Choice Sentence Fluency Sentence Faults Conventions Presentation Documentation
N OW W HAT ? Tip: Tie the map to the questions themselves, not the question number only (although that’s a quick way to map a specific test). Once all your questions are mapped to objective and level, you should be able to rearrange the questions for different seatings of the test.
