4 HOW TO ACHIEVE SCIENTIFIC EXCELLENCE AND KNOWLEDE TRANSFER BETWEEN UNIVERSITIES AND INDUSTRY?  The university should remain a driving force of new ideas, a creative environment. ( DISADVANTAGE : We are creative rather than oriented or targeted.)  Industries should remain market-oriented and targeted. ( DISADVANTAGE : fewer opportunities for the realisation of new ideas) IT IS IMPORTANT TO LINK EDUCATION TO SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH! SINERGY AND NETWORKING – ROLE OF THE UNIVERSITY UM wishes to cooperate – therefore VISION, MISSION AND GOALS!
